The Marriott In China

Written by Lynn Morgan Friday, July 16 2010 21:25

Hospitality Becomes Art

In China, guests expect more than just a comfortable bed and free Wi-Fi.

“Everything must relate to luxury,” explains Karen Kim, senior director of interior design for Marriott International in Asia. An expert in residential interiors and an admirer of the early Hollywood era, Butera has owned several significant homes, including those of Frank Sinatra, Bette Davis and Desi Arnaz, Jr. Of these properties, Butera is certain of one thing: “I felt like I was respecting their era through their homes,” he reveals.
